Large car parks are provided very close to the bottom station and on the road to Ascain. However, on very busy days these may be full. Extension projects are currently in hand in collaboration with the General Council for Pyrénées Atlantiques.

Return trip : 1h30 hours minimum.
Visitors can return on any train.
It is possible to descend on foot: allow 2 to 2½ hours for the descent.
Cash, cheque (in euros), bank card or "chèques vacances." There are cash dispensers on site.
There is a snack bar and restaurant at the bottom and top station (Ventas).
Shop selling all sorts of souvenirs and local produce. Ventas at the summit selling Spanish produce.
The summit is at an altitude of 905 metres (2,970 feet). The conditions are often different to the weather on the Basque Coast: make sure you bring clothing to protect you from the cold, rain and wind. Weather information at the bottom station. Météo France: 33 (0)8 92 68 02 64
There are many different walks from the summit (see IGN map No. 1245 OT-TOP 25). Following the specially prepared "green" path on La Rhune (green waymarkers) you can descend on foot to the station at the Col de Saint Ignace. The Livre guide de la Rhune (on sale in the gift shop), written for people using the path, is an excellent introduction to the fauna, flora and amazing history of this mountain.
